Brownie Math

We are officially on spring break this week, but there are learning opportunities everywhere.  I especially love sneaky learning.  Learning that is so much fun, it doesn't seem like learning.   It just sneaks up on you!

Today, we made brownies.  This requires following directions and measuring, of course.  The lesson was a success, and we were able to taste the final product.  Jellyfish loves cooking, and even the simple things like stirring the batter and cracking eggs are fun and exciting to him.  When we are cooking, I also go over words that he may not be used to hearing everyday like batter, stir, whisk, dough, and others depending on what we're making.

These little lessons teach him valuable lessons and tools he will build upon for the rest of his life.

Someday he will be making me brownies when I am old and decrepid, so I better teach him some skills now!
