July Menu Plan

Life can get pretty crazy as a stay at home mom, and especially as a one-income family. Grocery shopping is absolutely one of my greatest dreads in life. Money flows so quickly out of my purse and I seem to take home less and less each time. I know the key to saving money in the store starts at home. I have to have a good handle on our day to day activities and plan ahead. Sometimes that means throwing something in the crockpot in the morning, or throwing ingredients in the bread machine for dinner.

I have started using coupons again, which is hard for me because it seems to take SO much time. I use websites like Krazy Koupon Lady and Money Saving Mom, which helps, but often the prices they post are not what I find in my local store, so I have to keep that in mind. I also shop at Aldi's a lot! Anyway, I am posting a copy of our menu plan for the month of July. Maybe you'll get some ideas or it might motivate you to try it.
I'm trying some theme nights such as Dinner for Breakfast, Meatless Mondays (helps with the budget because meat is so expensive), Pot Tuesdays (something in a pot), Sandwich Wednesdays, Meat/Sides Thursdays, Culture Fridays, and Fun Saturdays (kids friendlier foods). I am randomly dispersing nights throughout the month such as "mom's surprise" and FIY (find it yourself), which gives me a little break!  We don't cook much on Sundays, unless it is our turn to fix the family dinner for my family. Then I have to get creative and watch the sales to feed a bigger crowd.

There are lots of theme night ideas out there, you just have to choose what's right for your family, especially if you have picky eaters like me!

Thanks for looking,
