About

I really appreciate you stopping by to visit. I started this site to keep a log of our homeschool adventures, and in the beginning did not even make it public. Over the years, I have become more and more determined to encourage other moms who may be considering homeschool as an option. Just because things are not going exactly as you imagined doesn't mean you give up! You just try a little harder. Try something different.

Who are these people?

We are an ordinary family of five in Southeast Missouri and have been homeschooling for about nine years. My son is in 8th grade and my daughter is in Kindergarten. Our newest addition was born August 25, 2014.  I taught public school for several years before settling down as a mom. I am so thankful for the opportunity to get to know my kids! My hubby taught High School Science for several years before settling in at his current job. People often comment that our past teaching experience makes us great candidates for homeschooling, but that is a false comment. Being educated in a new age university with government controlled studies so that you can pass a government mandated test proves nothing! Being a parent with a desire to see your children succeed is all you need to homeschool effectively.

Our Favorite Things:

Daddy: Fishing, building things, yardwork, cars, TV
Mom: Sewing, music, cooking, computers
Jellyfish: Legos, GI Joes, art, ships
Millie: Baby dolls, playing in the dirt, pretend cooking, Mickey Mouse, Scooby Doo
    Matthew 22:37
    Jesus said unto him, Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind.
Our Beliefs:
We are born again Christians with a desire to serve God and follow His Words. We believe in the King James Version of the Bible and might be considered very conservative by most. We dress modestly, listen to southern gospel music, go to church when the doors are open, read, pray, and try to put God at the center of our lives. We are teaching our children to uphold God's standards not the world's and to have a Biblical view of the world, to recognize sin, and be found blamless before God. I hope you'll give your life to God and let him fill your life with his marvelous light and peace!
 I Peter 2:9
But ye are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, an holy nation, a peculiar people; that ye should shew forth the praises of him who hath called you out of darkness into his marvellous light;
