From the Lips of a Child

Kids say the most profound things sometimes.

I was making sandwiches for my son and I, and he volunteered to give thanks for the food. After he said “Amen”, I had one of those mommy moments. I turned to him and said.

“J, I’m proud of you for many things, doing well in your school work, singing at church, but I’m most proud of you for being a Christian boy.” He had the strangest look on his face as he shrugged his shoulders and said, “Well, mom, I just really want to go to Heaven.”

Wow, how simple it is! We just have to have a desire to be with our Savior. We often get our eyes off of him, and lose sight of the goal.

I remember back to when I was saved as a young child. Why did I get saved? I wanted to go to Heaven. I was afraid that Jesus would come back or I would die and I wouldn’t be ready.

Life is full of distractions. We must remember our goal.

Then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air: and so shall we ever be with the Lord. Wherefore comfort one another with these words.
I Thess. 4:17-18

Thanks for listening to my mommy moment!
