DIY: Dry Erase Board

Have you tried any new DIY projects lately?

I don't know about you, but I have a whole Pinterest board filled with DIY projects I might want to try...

I saw this on another blog several weeks ago, but I can't for the life of me remember where....(sorry for horrible pic)
All you need is an old picture. It doesn't have to pretty at all!
I found a picture with a good frame at a yard sale for like two bucks.  I had to peel the cardboard off the back to get to the picture inside.

I covered the picture inside with some off-white fabric. I used hot glue for the entire project. You want your fabric to be lighter and not too busy so you can see your writing on the front.

I hot glued strips of pretty paper around the edge for a matte look.  The paper came from Hobby Lobby (aka-my favorite store). This was an unnecessary step that cause me more trouble, but I like the look of it.

Put the frame back together. The result is a fairly large space for us to write information on when we're doing school.

I wished last year for a board to model problems in grammar and math. One that was not your typical, ugly board.  One that I would be proud to display, and would go with my decor (and not look like it belongs in a classroom). Yay!  Success!

So, what are you waiting for?  Go find a pretty frame!

So you write on the plastic front, the part that protects the thing inside? Brilliant!
