Back to School 2012-13

The school year has officially begun. We began our work the last week in August, which is a little late for us. I have a plan, which usually doesn't matter, because life just seems to happen anyway. But it makes me feel better to feel somewhat prepared for the year

My plan includes some new curriculum & non-curriculum (if that makes sense) for Jellyfish, and a flexible preschool regimen for Millie. This plan also includes a major change in our scheduling of breaks and holidays. More to come on that later. We have been through a lot of changes in our home lately, as both of my inlaws are staying with us due to their health. I'm not sure what the future holds or how permanent the situation is, but we are rolling with the punches at this point.

We had our first field trip of the 2012-13 school year, and got to see lots of planes, a couple of firetrucks, and toured a military museum. Both the kids love airplanes, so this one was a hit, and free! The best kind. If daddy had been there, they could have taken a plane ride, but mama is a big ol' chicken!

We finished the day with a trip to the park with cousins, aka best friends! They had so much fun! God blessed us with a beautiful day and cool breeze.

This is our theme for the year, or maybe MY theme for the year. It's important to give our kids some roots in God's word, so that they can be prepared for the decisions that lay ahead of them.
As ye have therefore received Christ Jesus the Lord, so walk ye in him:
Rooted and built up in him, and stablished in the faith, as ye have been taught, abounding therein with thanksgiving. Col. 2:6-7

Hang in there,
