Weekly Highlights: Goodbye October

I feel like that post title should say, "Goodbye October, hello winter." For some reason November always feels like the beginning of winter for me...maybe its the cooler temps, the time change, or the fact that I'm actively Christmas shopping now; either way, I'm embracing winter. As this week comes to a close, I feel like we haven't accomplished anything. We have been out of school for 2 weeks due to sickness. The girls and I are feeling better but still blowing our noses and coughing; Jellyfish has full-blown strep throat and is down for the count. Hopefully, this round of antibiotics will clear him up.

I am finally feeling a little perkier and have been trying to catch up on housework. Isn't that how it works? Mommas really don't get down-time. We just postpone things...that pile up and end up being even more difficult.

A Look back at October:

  • Average temp: High 72, Low 48
  • Price of gas $2.29
  • In the news: terrorist attack in NYC, Government trying to pass tax reform,

Things to look forward to in November:

  • Sunday services: I hate missing church when we're sick!
  • Thanksgiving: Family & Food
  • More Christmas shopping
  • Thanksgiving activities for school (pilgrims, Native Americans, turkeys...Yay!)
Verses to Remember:

O come, let us sing unto the Lord: let us make a joyful noise to the rock of our salvation.
Let us come before his presence with thanksgiving, and make a joyful noise unto him with psalms.
For the Lord is a great God, and a great King above all gods.
In his hand are the deep places of the earth: the strength of the hills is his also.
The sea is his, and he made it: and his hands formed the dry land.
O come, let us worship and bow down: let us kneel before the Lord our maker.
Psalm 95:1-6
